All students study mathematics up to GCSE level.  From entering Senior House to GCSE pupils are taught in ability sets so that the level of teaching provides them with appropriate challenge.  We enter pupils for either the Higher or Foundation level GCSE papers based on where we feel they are most likely to be successful.  To provide stretch and challenge we offer an additional GCSE in Further Maths to our most talented mathematicians.

In Sixth Form pupils can opt to take AS maths (one-year course) or A-level (two years). For students intending to study a mathematics related subject at University we also offer Further Mathematics at AS-level.

In the Mathematics Department we achieve excellent results through structured teaching, assessment and feedback.  Pupils' needs are individually assessed, and one-to-one support is provided where necessary through Maths Plus sessions at lunchtimes.
