At Key Stage 3 girls receive one double lesson each of Biology, Chemistry and Physics per week. Year 7 have embarked on the revised National Science Curriculum, designed to fire their curiosity about phenomena in the world around them and to offer opportunities to find explanations. Experimentation and modelling are used to develop and evaluate explanations, encouraging critical and creative thought. Girls learn to question and discuss issues that may affect their own lives, the direction of society and the future of the world.

Principal areas of study are:

  • Energy, electricity and forces
  • Chemical and material behaviour
  • Organisms, behaviour and health
  • The environment, Earth and universe
