Westfield aims to provide a high standard of education to each girl, giving her a sense of worth, whatever her individual strengths and qualities.

We welcome girls at any stage of their school academic life and we think there is no better way to really get a feel for our school than with a visit.  Each year we host a number of open days, allowing you and your daughter the opportunity to take a look around and meet our staff and girls.  We are, however, also very happy to welcome families at other times and encourage you to come and take a tour on a normal school day.

Our main entry points into Junior House are at pre-school stage, Reception, and Year 5.  Junior House pupils do not attend a formal assessment day but, instead, your daughter will be offered a taster day with her current year group when she will follow normal timetabled lessons and be assessed informally during the course of the day.

Key entry points into Senior House are Year 7, Year 9 and the Sixth Form.  However, places are available in other year groups and we are always happy to discuss your requirements if you are looking at 'In Year' entry.  Your daughter may be at the stage of choosing her GCSE options in Year 9, in the middle of her GCSE courses or about to start her A Levels.  We have experienced staff and the expertise to guide you through the whole process and ensure that your daughter achieves her full potential.

At 11+, 13+ and 16+ we have Academic, Performing Arts, Creative Arts and PE Scholarships available.

Further information on admissions is available from Mrs Jane Jokelson in Senior House and Mrs Rachel Thornton in Junior House.

So, what can you expect next?  Whilst it may vary slightly depending on the age of your daughter, our admissions process usually follows these next steps:

  1. Come into school for a visit and to meet our staff and girls
  2. Complete and return your application form enclosed with our information pack
  3. Arrange for your daughter to attend an assessment day or join us for a taster day
  4. We will then be in touch about an offer of a place for your daughter

Please call or email us to arrange a visit to see our school in action and to discuss a bright future for your daughter.

We look forward to welcoming you and your daughter to Westfield in the very near future!

How to apply/admissions process

The normal process for new entrants is to make an appointment to see the school; if you can’t come on Open Day in October; to us every day is open day. If you would like to visit the school please give the office a call and we will be happy to arrange an appointment that suits you and your individual requirements.

Once you decide that you would like to make an application for Westfield you would then complete a registration form and we can then make arrangements for your daughter to spend a day with us.

Our usual practice is to invite your daughter to spend a day with the year group she will be entering. For entry into Senior House this day would usually include taking Maths and English tests to help us establish learning levels.

After this day you will receive a formal letter usually offering a place in Westfield. It is then up to you how quickly you would like to proceed, some girls like to join us as soon as possible, others come at Easter to help settle in before the new year but most girls start in the following September.
