It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the website of Westfield School.

As you browse through the information here and sample the experiences and achievements of the girls in our school remember that we can only give you a small taste of the busy, happy buzz of our school. To really experience it for yourself I would urge you to come and see us and find out how we can support your daughter to achieve her full potential. Please contact our Admissions Registrar and she will be delighted to arrange this for you.

We believe that education is about the development of the whole person. Westfield girls embrace challenge and opportunity. Their remarkable talents and aspirations inspire the whole community, making this a truly exceptional place to work and learn. Above all, this is a school of individuals; every girl is understood for the person she is and will become.

We are a proudly non-selective school, we feel that a balanced community is better for our girls and I believe that it helps them thrive. Rather than being in an academic hot-house we give a broad education but our results don’t suffer from this, far from it. At A level we had well over a third of our girls achieving A*/A grades and our value-added score was in the top 3% of schools in the country. I believe these outcomes are due to our excellent teachers and their individual knowledge of the girls, small class sizes where no-one can hide and everyone is supported, and the positive attitude that we encourage and develop in our girls.

In fact, one of the best moments of results days in August is watching girls who have maybe struggled a little more in some subjects opening their envelopes. Seeing their huge smiles when they have achieved results they had only dreamed about is one of the best feelings in the world.

From looking around our website you will see that we are a school that values self-discovery as much as academics and creativity as much as STEM.  We believe in and invest in our girls: every single one of them is talented, some academically, some creatively, some on the sporting field. What is so good about Westfield is that we give our girls the opportunity to find out where their talents lie, the support to develop them and the space to express themselves. We believe in leadership and know that we are nurturing the leaders of tomorrow. Girls who are confident, outgoing, resilient and optimistic. Girls who care about others before themselves, and who are open to the differences within the world, and how we are all similar underneath.

There is certainly something special about Westfield and I am delighted to invite you to visit us so that you can experience at first hand this very special atmosphere. We all want the best for our children and for the future. I firmly believe that Westfield is that best.
