In additon to the Open Evening, we also offer the following to support the transition between GCSEs and Sixth Form study:
- Sixth Form Experience - the chance to spend the day as a Westfield Sixth Former. Girls can sample a range of lessons as well as having the opportunity to settle into the Sixth Form area, including the common room. This is a great chance to talk to current students about their subject choices and the many benefits Westfield provides.
- Post-18 Prep - this initiative will help girls get ahead of the game when it comes to making post-18 applications, whether for university, apprenticeships or the world of work. They will have the chance to explore all kinds of super-curricular opportunities, based on their own interests, that will improve their academic understanding and help them get ready for the independence Sixth Form study requires.
- Sixth Form Scholarships - Academic, Performing Arts (Music/Drama/Dance), PE and Creative Arts (Art/Graphics/Textiles) scholarships are available for outstanding candidates. Please email westfield@westfield.newcastle.sch.uk for more details on how to apply.
- Sixth Form Consultations - at Westfield we recognise all of our girls as individuals and, as such, we know that they each deserve a unique Sixth Form experience. These consultations, for prospective pupils and their parents / carers, are a chance to discuss the choices that will best suit each individual Sixth Former, assisting them in planning a pathway that will help them achieve your potential.
"There is no need to be worried about starting Sixth Form life, especially here at Westfield. If you are finding the prospect daunting, then Westfield is the perfect place for you. With all the amazing opportunities Westfield has to offer, the Sixth Form could easily be the best two years in school you will ever have. You get to have increased freedom, independence and a really good time forming lifelong friendships whilst gathering all the skills and knowledge to give yourself the best opportunity for life after school."
