Examination results are consistently outstanding.

A Level Results 2018

Westfield’s results are a reflection of the hard work and commitment of our girls and the application they demonstrate to their studies and their futures on a day to day basis throughout their A-Level courses. 35% achieved A*/A grades! A massive 56% were A*-B

In true Westfield fashion the girls have achieved academic success alongside extra-curricular triumphs, with our Head Girl and Deputy both completing their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award just before their A-level exams!

Headmaster, Mr Neil Walker said “We are very proud of all of our girls and the progress they have made. We welcome girls with a wide diversity of skills and talents and it has been wonderful to see them grow and develop ready to leave us to pursue success in their chosen careers. They and their teachers should be congratulated on their results. We all feel privileged to have played a part in their journey.”

Gabrielle Newbigin has achieved 3 A’s and will be going to the University of Northumbria to study Fashion and Marketing.

‘I was so nervous this morning.  I am actually still in a bit of shock to be honest; I’m so happy with my results. I’ve done so much better than I thought and I am so excited about the course I am going to study’

Louise Greenshields who has been at Westfield since the age of 9 has achieved 3 A’s and will be heading to Leeds University to study Psychology.  ‘I have done much better than I expected in ALL the subjects, Chemistry, Psychology and Maths.  I am so so happy!’

GCSE Results 2018

Following a fantastic set of A Level results last week where nearly 60% of our Y13 pupils achieved A*-B grades, we have plenty more to celebrate with our GCSE pupils who have achieved outstanding results.

42 % of all GCSE entries were awarded 9-7 (A*/A) .

100 % of girls achieved 5+ 9-4 or A*-C grades

4 girls achieved 10 or more 9-7/A*/A grades including Aoife Devin who gained nine grade 9s plus an A^ in Further Maths (the grade above A*)

Headmaster, Mr Neil Walker said

‘The girls have achieved absolutely outstanding results, they have worked extremely hard over the last 2 years and I am so proud of what they have achieved together with the dedication and expertise of the staff; Westfield school has achieved great results year on year because of our ability to offer individual support from the moment the girls choose their options. It’s wonderful to see how busy our girls are outside their academic studies with some of them spending time in their summer break volunteering in conservation projects in Costa Rica!’

Aoife has been at Westfield since the start of Senior School and has achieved absolutely fantastic results which included Grade 9 in nine subjects, 1 grade eight and an A^ in Further Maths!

‘I was really nervous coming in this morning but I am so happy.   I’ve done much better than I thought.   I was completely shocked about some subjects but I am relieved.   I am going to stay on at Westfield and I am going to study Maths, Biology, Physics and Chemistry for A Level’

Maria Athena, who is also a national sailing champion, has also achieved fantastic results with 5 at grade nine, 1 at eight, 2 at grade five and 1 at grade 6.  ‘I am so happy with my results.  I did much better than I expected, especially in the science subjects’

Archbishop of York Young Leader's Award

This Award  offers the opportunity for girls to be involved in a volunteering project which will serve both the school and the local community whilst being taught three key concepts of leadership.  The Award sits alongside our Round Square philosophy and UNESCO extra-curricular classes as a pre-cursor to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.  We are delighted that our first cohort of Upper Four girls have recently completed this Award and have been presented with their certificates.
