Bright Start Pupils Visit the Hindu Temple
In the lead-up to Diwali, our Bright Start pupils visited the Hindu Temple in Newcastle to learn more about this important festival. They brought thoughtful gifts to share and were kindly offered some blessed food in return. The children were fascinated to see the unpacking of colourful new clothes that had just arrived from India, ready for the celebrations.
One Year 2 pupil said, “The Temple was really bright and shiny — I loved ringing the bell as well!”
It was a joyful and educational visit that deepened our pupils’ understanding of Diwali and the traditions that surround it.
