Cook of the Year 2026
We were delighted to welcome Mr Ciprian ‘Chip’ Scurtu, Head Chef at the award‑winning restaurant The Woodmans Arms in Whickham.
Our contestants were challenged to plan, prepare, and execute both a savoury and a sweet dish within a strict time limit — a true test of creativity, skill, and calm under pressure.
Chef Chip generously shared his culinary expertise and offered a fascinating insight into the diverse kitchen environments he has worked in around the world. His guidance and encouragement added something really special to the day.
