Spring is definitely here!

Our Spring walk, around our amazing school grounds, was extremely interesting and created much discussion.

Great excitement was shown at each sign of Spring that we found.

s

Mini daffodils in the Junior House garden and  lots of daffodils in the main grounds.

r

The girls thought they could use their fabulous Maths skills to count these daffodils in tens, but it proved a little too tricky!  A fantastic idea though.

There were new buds on so many plants, trees and bushes.

Rosie was fantastic at spotting the buds.

Ava loved spotting the buds and being out in the Spring sunshine.

A beautiful blue Spring sky behind the buds on the trees.

Transition are going to check these buds over the next few days to see what happens.

s

Colourful spring crocuses could still be seen.  We discussed the colours and shapes and spotted one flower that was still to open fully.

We spotted a couple of ladybirds too!  They are waking up and out to find some food.

s

There were plenty of new shoots and growth.

We don't think it will be too long before we see lots of beautiful blooms on the Camelia, beside the entrance to Senior House.  Look out for them!

r

We spotted two frogs in the pond, but they did not want to have their photograph taken as they were being rather sleepy and hiding!

The tadpoles however,  were keen to be photographed as they wriggled about.

On return from our Spring walk we discussed what we had seen and talked about other signs of Spring that we won't see in our school grounds.

Transition were disappointed there were no cute lambs, but we did hear many birds chirping in the trees.
