After The Storm

In our English lessons we have been looking at many books written by Nick Butterworth.  We have enjoyed many of his well known stories about Percy The Park Keeper.

We looked at the story of "After The Storm" in detail and discussed the beginning, middle and end of the story.  We loved looking at the beautiful tree house that Percy and the animals made for their new homes.

We talked about the characters in the story and wrote some sentences to describe  Percy The Park Keeper.  

Sophie wrote some good sentences.

 We decided to take our learning outdoors and we acted out parts of the story using masks.  It was a beautiful sunny autumn morning to be outside.

Percy had to console the animals as they had lost their homes when the  big oak tree got uprooted in the storm.

There were leaves everywhere too, as it had been so windy.

Percy got his wheelbarrow out

....and the animals got in!

We all enjoyed ourselves and really got into our roles as the characters.
