Plea from our UNESCO group

As a UNESCO school, we would like to help make refugees feel welcome when they arrive and we have made contact with a local collection centre which is urgently requesting items such as blankets, shoes, food etc.   I have attached to this e-mail the list of items the centre is looking for so you can see what is needed.  The charity co-ordinating the collections is called Care4Calais and its website is  https://care4calais.org/

If you are able to donate any of the items required, please can you send them in with your daughter on Monday 6th, Tuesday 7th or Wednesday 8th of September.   The UNESCO group will then sort and pack the items and take them to the collection centre at the end of the first week of school, so that they can be distributed to refugees promptly.  Please do not send items in with your daughter on Friday 3rd September if she is in school for induction or testing, as we will not have the collection area set up until Monday.

Many thanks in advance with your support with this initiative.

Mrs Swift, Mrs Dodds, Mr Dunn and the UNESCO group
