We’re thrilled to celebrate a major milestone at Westfield: the successful completion of Year 1 of the Embedding Formative Assessment (EFA) programme.
This nationally recognised, research-driven programme is already making a powerful impact on how we teach and how our students learn. By adopting EFA as our whole-school professional development approach, every member of staff is strengthening how assessment is used in everyday lessons, turning it into a dynamic tool that shapes teaching in real time.
Through EFA, our teachers are continually checking for understanding, responding to pupils’ needs in the moment, and making smarter, more informed teaching decisions. The result? More responsive lessons, more confident learners, and better outcomes for every student.
Most importantly, this work is transforming the classroom experience. By embedding formative assessment into daily practice, we’re helping students understand their learning as it happens; empowering them to reflect, improve, and reach their full potential.
