Westfield is a small, independent day school situated in the heart of Gosforth, a pleasant residential suburb of Newcastle upon Tyne with good access to public transport.

Girls and boys are admitted to Westfield from age 3. Girls are guaranteed continuity of education up to 18, with boys being guided upon a suitable school for their senior education. Our Junior House adjacent to Senior House provides excellent, self-contained accommodation for boys and girls up to age 11.

Junior House pupils benefit from sharing some of the facilities of Senior House, including purpose-built laboratories and ICT suite, dining room, tennis and netball courts. The transfer to Senior House is a smooth one in familiar surroundings.

Choosing a single-sex education for your daughter is a very important consideration when selecting a senior school.  In a single-sex environment, pupils have enormous freedom to discover what they enjoy and what they excel at, both academically and in extra-curricular activities, without the pressure to conform to stereotypes.

Growing and developing in an environment where they do not feel self-conscious allows them to take greater risks and grow in confidence.

At Westfield Senior, we like to ensure that girls have experience of working with others.  They are encouraged to participate in Round Square activities with other schools across the country or around the world, join the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and become involved in community projects.

At Sixth Form level we work with Newcastle School for Boys (NSB) to share some teaching classes where pupils from Westfield Sixth Form are taught alongside boys from NSB. There are also some joint trips and activities that are offered to pupils from both schools.
