A Level Results 2017

17 August 2017

Quality grades and overall pass rate achieved! Congratulations to everyone!

Another year of high quality grades and overall pass rate achieved at Westfield School

‘A massive congratulations to all our Upper Sixth! Another exceptional year of outstanding A Level results, achieving a 98% pass rate across all subjects taken but in addition to that, we are absolutely delighted that 50% were of A* to B grades, well done to everyone.

These results, and the many other successes are all down not only to the commitment and sheer talent of our individual pupils, but also to the inspiring teaching and constant encouragement and guidance they have received from their teachers, tutors and parents.

To all of our leavers, we wish you the best as you embark upon your journey beyond Westfield and into the wider world.’ Catherine Jawaheer, Headmistress

‘These girls have worked exceptionally hard and I am so proud of their achievements; this particular group of girls had set out their targets from an early stage and they knew what they needed to do to achieve them.

It has been a pleasure to guide them every step of the way through Sixth Form. I am really looking forward to hearing from them and their new courses, with a wide range of courses including Law, Geography, Art, Mathematics and unconditional offers from the prestigious LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) and for Fashion Communication amongst them – I am so pleased with these results’ Liz Wise, Head of Sixth Form

Eleanor Herdman is Deputy Head girl and has only been at Westfield since Year 11 after joining from a local state school. She leaves us having attained 3 A’s and an A* and will be heading to Edinburgh University to study Mathematics.

‘I am so happy, I did much better than I expected - especially in Further Mathematics which is what I was most worried about when I sat the exam. I am going out to celebrate with a meal with my parents and my twin brother, he’s waiting to get his results right now, so I am a bit nervous for him’

Olivia Saint has been at Westfield for 9 years and will be heading to the prestigious LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) in 2 weeks time.

‘I was still really nervous today, even though I had an unconditional offer – I’ve worked really hard so I was desperate to know that I had done well and got the right results, I’ve got to start my move to London in the next 2 weeks so I’m really excited’
