We are off to the Big Bang Fair!

20 June 2014

Upper Three and Lower Four pupils are heading off to enjoy a day of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) at Northumbria University.

The Big Bang Fair North East takes place at Northumbria University on Friday 20 Jun, 2014 .

The Big Bang North East is a great FREE programme of events designed to show how science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects make a difference in the real world. It inspires students to consider the exciting opportunities that studying and working in STEM open up to them.

The Big Bang North East is part of a major UK-wide programme led by EngineeringUK. The Big Bang programme celebrates and raises the profile of young people’s achievements in STEM through the National Science and  Engineering Competition, led by the British Science Association.

There is  something for everyone! They will take part in hands-on workshops and activities, science shows, such as The Ugly Animal Roadshow, find out why the panda should get all the praise, and inspiring talks.

Most of all, it is about inspiring young people from all backgrounds to study science, technology, engineering and maths. The event will be host to many inspirational scientists and engineers who are there to enthuse the engineers and scientists of the future. There are careers workshops to visit and local companies on-hand to give insight into future careers, both nearby and beyond.
