Comenius is part of the EU education programme, Socrates, (managed in the UK by the British Council - www.britishcouncil.org/socrates) which provides opportunities for schools and staff across Europe to work together. Comenius was a 17th-century Czech philosopher and educationalist who worked for peace and unity between nations. Comenius School Partnership projects usually run for two years, giving participants from at least three countries the chance to exchange experiences, increase their general knowledge and learn how to appreciate and understand each other's views through activities integrated into the school's everyday curriculum.

Our first project entitled "Our Beautiful and Fragile Earth" began in September 2007. It involves three partner schools, in Germany, Turkey and the UK, and will run until July 2009.

As the project continues and evolves so will the website as a showcase for all that the children in the four countries have achieved.
